Three more stories told from a comic book are presented by the Creep. The first is about a dime-store Native American that seeks vengeance on those who killed the store's owners. The second is about a carnivorous mass of pond scum that attacks four people on a raft. The final tale is about a rich woman who accidentally kills a hitchhiker while speeding home from an affair with a male prostitute.

The hitchhiker segment is scary as hell! The blob segment is disturbing, but the one segment I really didn't like was the first segment. I really didn't like it when the elderly couple got robbed and killed. That part didn't sit with me very well. I did enjoy the part afterwards when the wooden indian comes to life to take revenge against those assholes who killed them. That was good, but I'll always have a place in my heart for the very first Creepshow because that one is way better than this one.

Pretty much a complete waste of time; a blandly directed, incredibly badly acted and not even well written anthology of three short stories, strung together with piss poor animation sequences. The first story, Old Chief Wood'n Head is a ghastly, cliche, unfunny and unscary tale of Native American justice, and features the worst performances. Next up, and little better, is The Raft which concerns four horny teenagers (though they look like they're in their late thirties) stranded on a, ahem, raft in the middle of a lake, whilst a malevolent puddle-thing that looks like a cross between puke and diarrhoea picks them off one by one. There are no surprises, bad gore effects, worse acting and the ending, presumably supposed to be shocking, is unintentionally hilarious. The final story, The Hitchhiker, which is also the most successful - though not by a long stretch - stars the rather repugnant Lois Chiles as an adulteress who mows down a hitchhiker and does a runner, only to be continually pursued by him over and over. The back cover of the DVD (which for some reason I bought, and so will probably end up on eBay at some point) has a quote from the New York Daily News "as scary as anything you're apt to see!". Populated by some exceptionally dumb characters, pathetic 'acting', awful gore (tomato ketchup is chucked about liberally to little effect) and directed by a hack, the only thing scary about Creepshow 2 is that Stephen King and George Romero are associated.

Although not as entertaining as the original Creepshow this one still managed to keep me watching. The best story in my mind is The Hitchhiker because it is the most EC-like story of all three. The other two stories were good but the third was classic. The cartoon transitions between each story added to the comic book feel. the one thing about this is that the Creep (well played by Tom Savini) reminded me too much of the Crypt Keeper. The acting isn't horrible but it isn't great either. The best acting was done by Savini. George Romero's script was entertaining but I think he should have stayed in the director's chair for this one.

This movie was terrible. I am being so critical because the original was such a good movie. The three stories that were featured were not in any way scary and I couldn't imagine it scaring anybody. The only reason it is rated R is because there was cursing and nudity. It was a shame to see such a fantastic movie have a sequel that was such a letdown. I would recommend this movie to nobody. (I don't believe it earned the half of a star that I gave it either but you can't give it anything less).

"Creepshow 2" follows in the footsteps of it's previous movie, but this time we 'only' get three tales of horror instead of five. Still "Creepshow 2" is really not much different than the first, maybe the stories has a little more horror feel too them then the first (with "The Raft" being the most scary one) and I liked this movie a little bit more that the original. Worth seeing if you liked the first movie or if you are just a horror fan in general.
